South Carolina Residential HVAC license

The South Carolina Residential HVAC License (Air Conditioning) is a specialty license, issued to an individual, not a business entity, for anyone engaging in residential HVAC work over $200, on residential buildings that are sixteen units or less, and do not exceed 3 stories. This license limits the individual to $5,000 per residential project, unless a surety bond of at least $10,000 is obtained from the Commission. Once bonded, there is no dollar limit put on the residential specialty contractor for work performed. Residential HVAC work includes A/C and Heat pump equipment, LP and Natural Gas, including piping, fuel oil appliances and piping, ductwork and other associated trades.
