Concrete paving contractors build sidewalks, driveways and roads using concrete. They use heavy equipment to prepare ground, build concrete forms, mix and pour the concrete, before finally finishing the surface. Contractors sometimes have crews or subcontractors that work for them. They are responsible for ensuring the work is done to specifications, the job site is safe, and the construction and materials are up to standards. Usually the contractor will have to put a bid in to get a job.
